The price for a modern car service starts at £57.50 exclusive of parts and vat. We offer interim and full services and can arrange your MOT at the same time.

In our Firle workshops near Lewes, we service all makes and models of cars and vans up to class 7. We can take care of a minor service or a major service or even a service to a manufacturer’s specification. Because of the Block Exemption Regulation Vehicles within their manufactures warranty can also be serviced by Motorline Engineering with OE parts as required.
How often does a car need servicing?
As a rule of thumb, your car should have a full serviced every 12,000 miles or annually if your mileage is low. An interim service needs doing every 6,000 miles or every six months.
If you regularly drive in town or have high mileage, having an interim service will help your car’s performance and make sure it’s properly maintained. Regular servicing will identify problems early and reduce the risk of major issues and costly repairs.
Due to modern types of diesel having particulate filters in the exhaust system it is vital to keep the oils and filters replaced and maintained to schedule and use the correct specification oils to avoid costly damage to your vehicle.
Free tyre checks and full wheel alignment services
As your vehicle’s sole point of contact with the road, your tyres must be properly fitted and in good condition.

We can also carry out a 4-wheel alignment geometry of your vehicle to ensure you gain a long life from your tyres. Using this sophisticated technology, we can correct the wheel alignment to achieve maximum fuel efficiency from your vehicle.
Air Conditioning recharge
If your air-conditioning is not working as well as it used to or, if it has been some years since your last air-con recharge, we can test your system and carry out any repairs that may need attention. We will pressure test the air-con system for leaks, make sure it is free of fungus and nasty smells and re-gas as appropriate.

MOT testing
It’s important to remember that an MOT test is not a substitute for a service. Unless your car is less than three years old or, you own a pre-1960 classic vehicle, you have a legal responsibility to have it MOT tested every year. MOT tests check your car’s road-worthiness and make sure it’s safe to drive. Still, unless your vehicle is also regularly serviced, you risk damage and breakdowns.
