About Motorline Engineering

Independent garage and classic car specialists in Sussex

Since 1990, Motorline Engineering has been at the forefront of garage services in Sussex. Unlike most garages and car service centres, Motorline has the skills and resources to service and repair both modern-day vehicles and classic cars. With specialist car mechanics for new and heritage vehicles, Motorline delivers quality repairs and servicing - affordably.

Conveniently located just off the A27 in Sussex, Motorline is close to Lewes and Brighton and easily reached from any part of South East England. Being just 10 minutes from Newhaven, Motorline is also easily accessible for classic car owners living in Northern France.

Passionate about classic cars

Today’s generation of motor mechanics are not trained to work on the classic cars of yesterday. Andy Melville’s team of classic car mechanics were trained on the heritage vehicles they work on today.

When you entrust your precious classic car to a garage, it’s important they are as passionate about it as you are. Motorline has an enviable reputation in classic car circles. The company attends all the local classic car shows and rallies in Sussex and the SE of England. In fact, the Motorline team are regularly asked to show their customer’s classic cars.

If you live in the Sussex area or SE England and have a cherished classic car, you can entrust its care to Motorline with confidence. As classic car lovers, they can advise you on restoration, repairs, MOTs, secure storage and even transportation to shows if you don’t want to take it on the road yourself.

Classic car mechanics of the future

Because Motorline Engineering is so passionate about preserving classic cars, it runs an apprenticeship scheme for trainee mechanics. Naturally, the apprentices learn the sophisticated electronics and diagnostics needed for the maintenance of modern cars. But in addition, their in-house training teaches them the very different skills needed to become classic car mechanics.

This commitment to the heritage of classic cars is ensuring these timeless and sought-after vehicles will be preserved for future generations.

Andy and Mark

Andy Melville started the business in 1990 and along with a team of dedicated mechanics, with a wealth of experience and knowledge, has expanded the business to the size it is today. In 2013 he was joined by Mark Pilfold who brought with him a completely fresh approach to Modern Car Servicing. Between Andy and Mark and the rest of the team there is in excess of 165 years of combined experience. So we really do feel that we know what we are talking about when it comes to giving advice on your precious car or treasured Classic.
